Application cases of photovoltaic EVA hot melt adhesive film in module packaging

Photovoltaic EVA hot melt adhesive film is the core material in crystalline silicon solar module packaging and is widely used in actual production. In a typical module packaging structure, adhesive films are laid on the upper and lower sides of the cell respectively. The upper layer is connected to the photovoltaic glass and the lower layer is connected to the backsheet, forming a five-layer composite structure of glass, adhesive film, battery, adhesive film, and backsheet. In the lamination process, when the temperature rises to about 140 degrees Celsius, the adhesive film is heated, melts and flows, fully infiltrating the surfaces of the cells and ribbons, eliminating air bubbles between the layers, and then solidifying and shaping under the action of the cross-linking agent, firmly bonding the various layers of materials into a whole.


Taking the monocrystalline modules commonly used in large-scale ground power stations as an example, the EVA film has a transmittance of over 90% and can efficiently transmit light energy. Its ultraviolet resistance and humidity and heat aging resistance ensure that the modules can operate reliably outdoors for more than 25 years. In building-integrated photovoltaic projects, EVA film is used in double-glass laminated components to encapsulate the cells between two pieces of glass, which not only meets building safety regulations but also has the power generation function. In addition, in application scenarios such as agricultural greenhouses, photovoltaic carports, and floating power stations on the water, EVA film relies on its excellent weather resistance, insulation and water-blocking properties to ensure stable output of components in high temperature and high humidity environments. Some high-demand projects also use anti-potential-induced attenuation plastic films to effectively suppress power attenuation and increase long-term power generation income. These cases fully demonstrate the irreplaceable value of EVA hot melt adhesive film in the field of photovoltaic packaging.
