EVA film is the core material in the photovoltaic module packaging process. It is laid between the glass and the cell and between the cell and the backsheet. It mainly plays the roles of bonding, light transmission, electrical insulation, and water and moisture resistance. The following describes several practical application scenarios.

In large-scale ground power station projects, conventional crystalline silicon components are encapsulated with EVA film with a light transmittance of more than 90%. After being cross-linked and cured by a laminator at a high temperature of about 145 degrees Celsius, a dense and durable encapsulation structure is formed. After ten years of operation of components in a western ground power station, the power attenuation was controlled within 10% and there was no obvious yellowing in appearance, which fully verified the long-term reliability of the EVA packaging system.

In the field of double-glass modules, bifacial power generation products use a two-layer glass structure. The front uses a highly transparent EVA film, and the back is also sealed with an adhesive film. With bifacial batteries, it can achieve a power generation gain of 10 to 30% on the back. It is widely used in floating power stations on the water and in desert areas with high ground reflectivity, significantly increasing the power generation income per unit area.
